Music in our Schools Month
March is Music in our Schools Month, a nationwide celebration of music officially designated by the National Association for Music Education.
Music in our Schools Month is used to show how music affects and inspires our lives in school. GHS celebrated by putting on a concert on the 16th and then participated in the NHMEA’s Large Group festival on the 18th.
In addition to the Music In Our Schools concert, GHS’s music department set up a space on the music wing door asking students, “how does music inspire us?” Student responses are pictured above.
When asked why music is so important in school life, Josh Desrochers responded, “Music gives us another way to communicate… it’s such a different form of communication.”
