Walking into the Be The Change meeting at 7:15 on a Monday morning, Steffi and Tori start to explain what we are going to be talking about today. The first thing Steffi  tells us to do is to send a nice text to someone. Then we play a bunch of games that makes the club bond. We were all laughing because of the games and everyone is having a good time. The bell rings to let us know that 1st period is about to begin. We all grab our bags and head to our first class of the day.

Steffi and Tori Flegal, GHS Seniors, created this club. Both participated in challenge day last year which sparked the idea of this club. This club’s main focus is on many different attitudes like anger, sadness and how to deal with it, but the main purpose is to Be The Change that you want to see in the world. If you want to change anything in our community this organization is the place to start. Challenge day was an eye opening experience for Steffi and Tori; and they were inspired to make a change at this school. They wanted to have a group where everyone was accepted, where everyone could be themselves. They wanted to create a place for people to express themselves and learn to express their emotions in healthy ways.

Megan Charest, a senior at GHS, is one of the board members for this club. Megan loves this club; she thinks that it’s a good addition to Goffstown High School. Megan has been in many clubs throughout her GHS experience and she is most proud of this club. She thinks it is one of the top clubs at this school. She loves being part of a club that “ spreads positivity and makes the school a better place.” Megan feels like this club will make a lasting impact on our community. Meagan encourages everyone to join this club, they meet Monday mornings at 7:15 in the step room. She loves having a Monday morning filled with activities and a positive group of people. Megan loves that this club is “judge free and people can be themselves”.

Reed Barrett is a junior at Goffstown High School and is a new member of this club. Reed has only been to a couple of meetings and he already loves this club. He joined this club because of challenge day last year. Challenge day for him was a life changing experience; it was a place where he could be himself without judgement. This is exactly what this club was created for. This club helped him meet new people and to actually see the real them. Reed describes this club as “Amazing. It’s a place where I can be myself and I 100% recommend people joining this club.”
