Goffstown’s JV and Varsity Volleyball teams faced Windham High school on Monday, October 4th. And both teams showed amazing performances. The Junior Varsities game had a fierce start and both teams proved that they were ready to win this. Freshman Teagan White made several incredible digs to save Goffstown from losing points. Both teams after the initial excitement showed amazing defensive and offensive skills. Libero Samantha Brown had numerous digs again with her teammate Teagan as well as amazing dives which she desperately tried to help save the team with. Outside hitter Cameron Sweeny was a force with several kills, though with all of the team’s efforts they were not able to push past Windham and ultimately lost.

Varsity had a similar, aggressive start. Goffstown’s Mariah Howarth played an amazing serve-receive game and overall assisted the team in many points. Julianne Danis further cemented her record as one of Goffsotwn’s best power hitters, rapidly scoring kills in the first set. Windham quickly realizing she was a force put their best blocks in front of her, in an attempt to slow her down. Junior Annie Kelly played some of her best serve-receive games for setter Sophie Rousell. Sophomore Ella Malouin played some of the best front row of her career! Partnered with Freshman Meredeth Winterburn they put a stop to the majority of Windham’s major Kill attempts. During the second set Sophomore Riley O’Connell showed off her hitting skills, Mariah Howarth continued to show incredible skill within the second set. Senior Alyssa Hunt played an amazing second set, even giving Goffstown several Kills. Throughout the game, both teams showed amazing commitment and skill. Unfortunately, Goffstown was not able to keep up and Windham walked away with the win.
