Quarantine Favorites

I know how you all are going to react to this, “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? THIS IS A SERIOUS OUTBREAK!!!” I’m just going tell you right now that I’m tired of taking this like I’m not allowed to enjoy myself. Keeping that in mind, here are some of my favorite things I have discovered.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

This is probably one of my favorite video games of all time so far in my five-ish years of video game releases. Since Animal Crossing: New Horizons is far too long for me to care to write, it shall be known as ACNH for the rest of this paragraph. ACNH has been something for me to do each and every day. It takes the stress out of everyday life and provides a much-needed release. For people who haven’t played Animal Crossing before, the entire point of the game is to live an exciting and fulfilling life in (depending on the game) a village populated by friendly anthropomorphic animals such as dogs, anteaters, and bears. Coincidentally, I happen to be TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS IN DEBT TO A RACOON. In my opinion, the addition of ACNH was a much anticipated and necessary addition to the series of games. Conclusively, my favorite video game of Covid-19.

Overly Sarcastic Productions

This YouTube channel is a semi-educational source that makes historical and literary analysis easier to comprehend as well as entertaining. Some of my favorite videos from this channel are: Legends Summarized: Underworld Myths, Summer Stupidity: GODS OF EGYPT, and Classics Summarized: Dante’s Inferno. The channel is run by two people who go by red and blue. They both satirize many long-held biases in both history and literature. Overall this youtube channel has been one of my favorite channels for literature and history overall.

The Ordinary

The Ordinary is a skincare brand that has very high-quality ingredients at a cheap price point. Their lactic acid serum has helped me clear up my skin. The other product I personally love is the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum. The latter serum listed cuts down on oil and sebum in the pores as well as reduces sensitivity in the skin. 

Moomins 

This series of books originally created in 1945 has been adapted into almost every form of media. My personal favorite form of media translation is the anime created in the ’90s. The show can be found on Youtube at the Moomins channel: Moomin official. This show instills a sense of peace and unity even though it can come off as a bit childish. 

At the end of the day, these are some of my favorite things to do/ consume in quarantine. Hopefully, you and your families can stay well during this trying time. Remember to hydrate and wash your hands!
