Track Practice

Kelsey Gregorio, Staff Writer

Nervous, my hands were shaking as I tried to tie my old Nike shoe laces. My friends Jared Steil, Adam Zienkiewicz, and Davis Balke were jumping for joy and you could hear the excitement in their voices. They had all participated in a running sport before so they were all pumped for our first practice.

It was Monday, March 20th and it was the first practice for spring Track and Field at Goffstown High School. There were no tryouts for this sport which felt strange because few tiring tryout days seemed normal.

My friend Adam told me, “the fun part about track is that you can try the different events and continue what you enjoy” which was great advice that helped me through the first spring Track and Field practice.

After a few weeks, I discovered that Adam was right about this sport. It is a lot of fun and I can’t believe I was so nervous at the beginning. Now, my friend Davis and I think Track and Field is an awesome sport! We are long distance runners who look forward to going to practice every day after school.

The first meet is an invitational at Pelham on Saturday, April 15th at 10:00 in the morning.
