S’mores with Santa

The fire crackles and the smell of s’mores lingers in the air. The christmas spirit feels complete with the enormous tree all big and bright covered from the tippy top to the very bottom with beautiful lights. The christmas carols in the background and the laughter of children meeting Santa make the center of New Boston feel like home on this Sunday night.

It was December 9th, a beautiful Sunday, between the hours of four and six at the New Boston Recreation Department. The first annual S’mores with Santa was in full swing. This event was formerly known as Breakfast with Santa.

For the younger children, there was an ornament decorating room where the kids could pick out a wooden ornament and color it in with markers. Once the kids finished, they could either bring the completed ornament home to keep for themselves or put it on the town tree outside the Rec Office for everyone to see. The children also had the opportunity to enjoy smores outside by the fire, have their picture taken with Santa, and listen to Christmas carolers. Tori Kelly, a volunteer in the ornament room said, “It was an overall success and I can’t wait for next years event.”
