Cassidie Plourde, a senior at Goffstown High School, is a student with many noteworthy accomplishments. She plans to attend college for environmental sciences and pursue a degree in environmental engineering or data analysis. Even with her busy schedule of school, work, and other hobbies like reading and thrifting, she still takes time to make her community a better place. Cassidie is involved in many clubs including Peer Outreach, NHS, Roh Kappa, SNHS, and her favorite, Environmental Club.
Her love for nature inspired her to be a proactive member of this club. The Environmental Club has made some serious progress in not only GHS but the whole town. Some noteworthy events such as the school thrift store, picking up litter, toy/ food drives, and the annual mother nature plant sale are just a few examples of the Environmental Club’s dedication to save the planet.
Cassidie’s focus on saving the planet doesn’t end there. Cassidie says there’s tons of new ideas being brought to the table for upcoming years. “There has been some on and off conversation about solar panels for the school as well as planning a no plastic campaign.”
Cassidy’s most noteworthy accomplishment is earning 2nd place in a statewide “Envirothon” competition. Her team gathered and analyzed data of an environmental issue then presented their solutions to the judges. The passion she has for the planet’s health earned her the title. “My proudest accomplishment in my high school career has to be competing in the state-wide competition. I had tons of fun and I learned so much.”
