Do you ever get bored of the same old cliche, highschool, relationships or just reality drama? Well divergent is certainly no walk in the park if that’s what you’re looking for. In this young adult dystopian series there’s plenty of thrill, mind control, corrupt government, exciting characters and a little spice if I don’t say so myself. It’s definitely like nothing I have ever read before either, and let me just say, this book has surprised me many times, it’s truly another world. In this universe, the world is separated into districts, sort of like the hunger games, (so if you like that series then check divergent out). Now I won’t say WHY because that would be an incredibly huge spoiler alert, however it has something to do with personality. Every district has its secrets though, and the conspiracies running it. What they would do to hide those secrets is the real question though. So if you wanna spice up your life with mass manipulations and government corruption, this 3-4 book series is right for you.
In this dystopian world, at 16, people are separated into five districts or factions, despite any friend or family connections, and remain there for their remaining years. Once you choose, you are condemned to your decision no matter what and you must follow your district’s rules or suffer the consequences. But no need to worry, it should be an easy enough choice considering everyone is born with 1 of the 5 categories of personality, each designed for each district. That is, unless you are divergent.
Beatrice, turning 16 today, is finally old enough to get out of this place. After living a life of complete self sacrificial tendencies, she is finally free to choose which faction she wants to be in forever. Erudite, Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity, or Candor. Just spill your blood into whichever bowl your desired faction lies. It should be easy enough, right?
