Challenge Day was held in the school’s gym September 25, from 7am to 3pm. Crispin’s House Coalition of youth is the organization that helps kids to connect with their peers through life experiences. Their Support makes Challenge Day Possible. Many teachers and students attend this event every year.
Mr. Webb made Challenge Day possible for the school. He proclaims that Challenge Day is the one day where students can all be together and not worry about being judged. He states that the outcome of this last year’s event was more efficient than the year before. Many people come back after the first year they participate.
“The Crispins House Coalition of Youth makes Challenge Day fun and interactive” Mr. Webb states. There are activities such as dancing, music, and having an assigned family. Officer Pelletier says that you get a group of up to four people and they are your family for the day. He also claims that after the day gets more serious, students are able to talk about their hardships, and be able to see the rest of their peers.
Officer Pelletier suggests that many people attend, and he goes every year as well. Pelletier claims that Challenge Day is something that every student should experience. “It opens up so many opportunities to meet new people.”(officer pelletier) This day is full of many fun activities that GHS students could enjoy. It’s also a resource for GHS students to use, as a day to be silly and not worry about school for once.
