Goffstown High School’s Varsity football team faced Memorial HIgh School on October 4th. Goffstown lost 15-18. GHS Head Coach John Preston said “we were excited to get back on the home field and give our best efforts in front of our school and families.” The team made some good efforts throughout the game but failed to match Memorial’s physicality.
In preparation for the game the team had a solid week of practice. Preston says “I believe we left a lot of chances to execute and create momentum on the field. The seniors gave us everything they had.” He also believes that as a team they’re still learning how to execute and take advantage of momentum but he’s proud of their efforts.
Player Jurgen Gannon says “We went into the game cocky thinking that this would be an easy win and I think that’s a big part of the reason we lost.” The team is learning to form strong bonds and become a family on and off the field.
