Have you ever wondered what it is like after serving for our country? Picture this; You are walking into the school being greeted by students who couldn’t look happier to see you. They bring you to the library where there are pastries and fruit ready for you to eat. Then you are asked questions about what your experiences were like. You are celebrated all day long for the wonderful service you did for our country
To honor these brave men and women on Veteran’s day, Goffstown High School (GHS) held a breakfast to recognize the veterans of our community. The breakfast was held by student council members, with a special performance by select chorus. Members of the council asked the veterans questions to better understand their story and their experiences and then shared out loud with others. Sharing their stories and giving them the recognition they deserve is one small gesture for the many sacrifices they made.
“ I have always been a lover of the army, and attending this breakfast really opened my eyes to how hard the job really is” Addisyn Hogan, a student at GHS says. She expressed that she wishes more students could attend and get to hear all the stories she did. When asked what her favorite story she heard was she said “ I can’t even begin to try and number them from best to worst, they would all be at the top spot”.
Goffstown High School takes pride in the events held at our school. Our school strives to be an active part in the community and show representation for the members of our town. This and many other events are just a few examples of the efforts our school makes to build a community.
