For someone who listens to a lot of music, there is one artist I listen to the most. Billie Eilish is her name. She has come out with a new album recently. There are many songs that make up this album, but there are only a few that can entertain anyone.
The first song is “Lunch.” This song has more of the upbeat tone to it. When I turned it on for the first time it made me just want to dance. I could see it being in more of a club setting, with the addictive beat, I just never wanted to turn it off. This song is also her first time showing that she accepts herself and her sexuality. Billie also rarely uses a beat quite like this one.
The next song that played next was “Birds of a Feather.” I immediately noticed that this was much different from the other music she has produced. Birds of a Feather is more a cliche love story. Which was nice to see from her. Also the rest of the song is full of idioms of the english language. This song also proves that even though Billie is known to be more on the edgy side, that she can also successfully create a perfect love story.
The third song that came through my feed was “Skinny.” Now this song really pulled on the heartstrings. This is definitely very much Billie’s typical style of song. It has a more sorrowful tone to it. She speaks on things she has always been passionate about, like her image and how people see her. Skinny also has a connection to her other album Hit me Hard and Soft.
Fourth on the list is “The Greatest.” Billie connects this back to her relationship, and how she should have been more appreciated during the ordeal. Though in this song she incorporated a surprise towards the end. The beat changes to a cinematic rock n roll feel. She created this to be a breakup song, and a song that shows self love and appreciation.
The last song I listened to was “Wildflower.” Billie seemed to really mature during this song making it one of the greatest yet. She makes this complex story about her obsession with her ex-boyfriends new girlfriend into how she is letting go of that. The song really shows how much she has grown as a songwriter and an overall person.
In conclusion, many of her songs create such a different meaning, to the overall beat of the song or just the storyline that is connected. Her songs have been known to help many people overcome hardships. In the future I hope to be able to see her again, just to be able to feel the love of her fans as well as hear her music in real time.
