Celebrating Poetry Month
For the month of April, the 200 hallway bulletin board has boasted a bright display of Blackout Poetry. April is Poetry month and what better way to celebrate than with a vibrant display of students’ own poetry. Mrs. Mannion’s sophomore classes completed a unit on Poetry with a Blackout Poetry assignment. The process involves taking pages of prose and “blacking out” words that are not needed to reveal a poem with the words remaining. Students were then asked to decorate the page to reflect their poem. These are a sampling of the fruits of their labor.
